Gen 6:1 Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face
of the earth, and daughters were born to them,
Gen 6:2 that the sons of God saw the daughters
of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for
themselves of all whom they chose.
First notice how the Holy Spirit phrased the sentence, The
“sons of God”, and the “daughters of men”, denoting different groups. Then the
phrase “sons of God”.
Here is every occurrence of the phrase in the old testament.
I’ll get to the new testament in a bit. In my reading none of these
passages speak of men, but rather angels.
Gen 6:2 the sons of God saw
that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any
they chose.
Gen 6:4 The Nephilim were on
the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to
the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men
who were of old, the men of renown.
Job 1:6 Now there was a day
when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also
came among them.
Job 2:1 Again there was a
day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan
also came among them to present himself before the LORD.
Job 38:7 when the morning
stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
Gen 6:3 And the LORD said, "My Spirit shall not strive with
man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one
hundred and twenty years."
Gen 6:4 There were giants on the earth in those
days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came
in to the daughters of men and they bore children to
them. Those were the mighty men who were of
old, men of renown.
This verse indicates that the giants were the result when the
sons of God came into the daughters of men. The giants did not inherit giantism
from Adam but rather they came as a result of this co-habitation. This
went on before the flood and after the flood. The word translated giant
is nephil It means, fallen or fallen ones. The
suffix im in Hebrew is the plural. Nephil-im ,
or the fallen ones. Why would this be used to describe the offspring of Godly
men and the pagan women?
Gen 6:5 Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great
in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his
heart was only evil continually.
Gen 6:6 And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth,
and He was grieved in His heart.
Gen 6:7 So the LORD said, "I will destroy man whom I have
created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and
birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them."
Gen 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
Noah and the
Flood
Gen 6:9 This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect
in his generations. Noah walked with God.
Perfect in his generations? Perfect how? The Hebrew word
is Tamyim it means without blemish, genetically. When
offering a animal to God as a sacrifice, that animal had to be perfect, not one
that was cripple or had a blemish. The genetically best that you had. That is
the main way this word Tamyim is used in scripture.

God wanted someone whose gene pool had not been corrupted by the
sons of God. Wanted him for what, what was the purpose of the flood? What was
the purpose of the sons of God taking human women and producing monstrous
offspring? I submit the reason the angel attempt to corrupt the bloodline of
mankind is to prevent the Messiah from being incarnated into a man. If they can
so pollute the human gene pool so that man is no longer just man. And flood was
to wipe out the polluted blood line.
Before the flood men lived for almost 1000yrs I believe this how
you got the giants. Some believe that the dinosaurs, the gigantic ones became
that way because lizards grow all their life and if they are living 900yrs they
would grow very large. It may be these giants, (nephilhim) are the same. In
verse 3 God say that His Spirit will no longer strive with men and his days
shall be120 years. Why? In a 900 year life you can really perfect sinning. Also
maybe to keep the offspring of angels who continued to go in to the daughters
of men from becoming “Fallen Ones”, Nephlihim, giants.
There is a strange verse in Jude:
Jud 1:6 And the angels who did not keep
their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has
reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great
day;
What is that about? Angels who did not keep their proper domain?
Left their own abode? Now they are in a prison of sorts? What on earth did they
do? This is not speaking of angels final punishment the lake of fire, Jude
indicates they are there now. That word abode is important.
It is the greek word oikētērion. Since scripture
is the best lexicon for word usage let’s see how else the word is
translated. By God’s providence it is used only one other place.
Here is the verse in context. :
2Co 5:1-5 For we know that if our earthly house, this tent,
is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal
in the heavens. (2) For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with
our habitation (oikētērion) which is from heaven, (3) if indeed,
having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. (4) For we who
are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to
be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. (5) Now He who
has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given
us the Spirit as a guarantee.
What is Paul talking about here? Our earthly house, our tent, a
building from God, our habitation? Our body!! First the earthly
one,(House,Tent) then our heavenly one. (building from God, our habitation).
So let’s substitute body for abode.
Jud 1:6 And the angels who did not keep
their proper domain, but left their own body, He has reserved
in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day;
What about domain? The greek word is arche’. This the only
place it is translated Domain, other ways it is translated is “beginnings” and
“Principality”. Let try it again:
Jud 1:6 And the angels who did not keep
their proper beginnings or principality, but left their own body, He has reserved
in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day;
Who else in scripture could this be other than the angels from
Genesis 6 and afterward.
To be continued…
What is the difference between angels and demons?
